The holiday season can be particularly difficult for those missing a loved one. At St. Anthony on the Desert a special tree is set aside to be adorned with cut-out stars. Individuals are invited to write names of their loved ones who have died on a star and place it on the tree. This simple tree allows for a place to remember and shines brightly during the Christmas Worship.
We have the following schools scheduled for 2018:
We are also planning schools in:
On this most holy All Souls Day, let us light a candle of remembrance of those we love whose souls have departed this earth. May God bring comfort to those who grieve and mourn this day. Amen
Last week, a group of caring individuals attended the Facilitator Training School at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, Robbins Facility, in Hudson (Lenoir) NC. We are so very grateful for their willingness to serve and enter into the ministry of presence to those who grieve in their community.
Thank you also to Martha Livingston and The Rev. Steve Butler for their support and for the entire Caldwell Community who made the training possible.
Finally, our new website! I am excited about our new pages and as we test it out over the next little while, I know there will be things that we will need to add to better inform you of our ministry.
Our intention is to make this the beginning of a discussion of how we can help faith communities meet the needs of those who grieve in their churches and great communities. I look forward to the conversations and continued growth of the ministry.
