A note about the virus. Many of our faith community partners have made the difficult decision to suspend gatherings at their churches.
For those churches that were in the midst of their workshops when social distancing began, please continue once you are back offering programs. I would recommend checking in with your participants each week via telephone and spend some time in your first workshop back to talk about the experience and how it has affected them in their grief journey.
We will do our best to fill orders for materials for those who will offer the program once decisions are made to return to a more regular schedule.
As for the Facilitator Training Schools scheduled to date, It is my hope that the school we are working on for the Gulf Coast for May 28 -30 will be able to go on . Decisions about moving forward we will be made to ensure the well-being of participants and instructors. The school in Tulsa has been postponted.
Our prayers are with those who are working on the front lines in fighting the virus - Medical care workers - scientists - first responders and all those who are striving to ensure that we have food and necessary provisions. We pray also for those afflicted with the virus. I offer the following prayer from Episcopal Relief and Development for each of us as we move through these uncertain times
God of the present moment,
God who in Jesus stills the storm
and soothes the frantic heart;
bring hope and courage to all
who wait or work in uncertainty.
Bring hope that you will make them the equal
of whatever lies ahead.
Bring them courage to endure what cannot be avoided,
for your will is health and wholeness;
you are God, and we need you.
This we pray in Christ our Lord. Amen.
